Palleba — a Faroese word for the ordinary person — should have greater sovereignty over their own money and not have its value indirectly stolen through inflation.
The Purpose of Palleba
The purpose of Palleba is to make it easier for ordinary people to understand and become part of crypto, the monetary system of the future. Palleba aims to become a complete solution that provides everything needed to make cryptocurrency a reality in everyday life. There are five core areas that are emphasized in this process. These are: education, account setup, security, taxes, and real-world usage.
Why Palleba Started
Palleba was created from a growing conviction that the current monetary system does not benefit the ordinary person, but instead those who stand closest to the money printer. The crypto environment today contains millions of cryptocurrencies, where 99% of them serve no meaningful purpose. There are also millions of people in the crypto space who are only trying to enrich themselves through the losses of others, with a so-called “Zero Sum Mindset.” This and many other things have caused the general public to develop a highly negative perception of crypto. Without truly looking deeper into the subject, many associate crypto with scams, crime, and untrustworthy activity.
Most people also find it very difficult to practically enter the world of crypto and begin investing their money in the right places. The negative perception combined with the complicated investment process often discourages people from spending time learning about it. This created a need in the market — a need to guide people on how to practically use crypto, but also a need to explain the philosophical foundation behind the Bitcoin concept.
This is why Palleba was founded.
Who Is Palleba
The founder of Palleba is Tóki Hanusarson á Lógv. As mentioned above, I have a strong conviction about the importance that good money has for society.
With a strong interest in economics, I continuously work on developing Palleba into a complete solution within the crypto space.
I study economics at George Mason University in the United States, where I continue developing my knowledge and skills within economics and financial systems. Although I study in the United States for much of the year, I am physically present in the Faroe Islands for four months each year, and the Palleba service is always available online.
